First For Women Uncooperative in registering and paying out claims due to third parties

On the 11th August 2018 i was knocked off my bicycle on the bicycle lane on the Beach Road outside La Paloma Complex. The motorist was standing still to wait for on coming traffic. She clearly did not look when she pulled off and hit me into the middle of the road.

Her insurance First for Women have been handling her claim. It is nearly 3 months later, with no correspondence in writing to finalize the claim. The repairs to the bicycle where in excess of R6300 or replacement value R8450. Upon calling the insurance company, they advised that they are prepared to pay out R3600 and nothing more.

I am totally infuriated by their lack of professionalism, means to communicate, and lack of assistance to resolve the matter in which it should be dealt with. I gave them the option to find a suitable replacement for my Giant Elwood bicycle should they not be happy with the options i gave them. I am supposed to be training for charity for the Cape Argus 2019 and my training schedule has been unduly postponed by the incompetence of the insurance company in question.

Nevermind the unpaid medical bills that i now sit with. Very disappointing.
