Expect 40% plus annual increases on policies that you make absolutely no claims on.

I cancelled both my comprehensive car insurance policy and scratch and dent policy with them on 1 July 2018. I was assured I would not be debited again. I requested cancellation emails as I knew there was going to be issues, there are always issues with First For Women. After sending 6 emails and finally threatening to take matters further, I received confirmation of the cancellation of my comprehensive insurance. I still have not received anything for the scratch and dent policy. This morning my bank account was debited for R171.14. Not only have I been charged for a policy that I have cancelled, my premium has gone up from R120 pm to R171.14. That is a 43% increase! I received no notice from them about this increase. After using up all my airtime phoning the call centre today, I was assured that someone would contact me and that I would receive my cancellation confirmation letter and a refund. I have received nothing in writing and no one has contacted me.

Do not let this company fool you. They claim to offer affordable insurance with a zero excess but after the first year, they increase your premiums without your knowledge by 40% plus and no longer offer a zero excess. The value of your car depreciates but your premiums increase at an alarming rate regardless of the fact that you have not made any claims.
