First for nothing when you really need it.

I have been with this insurance company since 2016, and have since upgraded to have comprehensive insurance for my car and household goods. I receive promotional material like clockwork. My debit order goes off like clockwork. The yearly increase on my premium happens like clockwork. BUT: I have been retrenched in February 2019. I tried to keep up with the payments on ALL my creditors as much and for as long as possible and informed them via email on April with all the necessary documents attached as proof , including First for Women, of my retrenchment. My first for woman policy is supposed to cover my premium for at least 6 months in the event of retrenchment. I received the retrenchment claim from Assupol promptly on 23 April, which I completed and sent back to Gertrude Sengke for my claim to be processed. In the meantime, First for Women kept on debiting my bank account, sending me emails and sms'es to say that my debit order did not go through and that my policy will be cancelled. I was surprised and upset about this, as I have done what I could and followed the correct channels. I phoned them on 5 June and spoke to Brangelina ( ?) who could not help me and she transferred me to another person who could also not help me who in turn transferred me to another person who could ALSO NOT HELP ME, but promised to get someone who could to contact me. That was on the 5th of June. I am STILL waiting for anyone from FFW to contact me, but was informed in the meantime that my policy has been cancelled. I have sent all my retrenchment forms to FFW again on 6 June. They cannot say that they have not received it, as they have forwarded the first communication I have sent, to Assupol to process the retrenchment claim. I am hugely disappointed. A person in my position do not necessarily want to deal with nonsense like this - the stress is bad enough and one would want to be able to count on your insurance, specially FFW, if they advertise as always being there for you.
