******ion

I have had cover for two cars with first for women since 2010, I have never claimed and never missed a premium. My cars are now a year older, I have not moved residence, I still use my car privately only. Last week I was sent an email from first for women informing me of my annual increase - the premium is going up from R1250 to R2200 (that is almost a 100% increase). I called them to complain and they said that they could have a look at giving me a better rate. the next proposed adjustment was to R1898 still a 66% increase over what I am currently paying. If I go to their online site and get a quote, the online quote comes out at the same as my current premium. When I enquired about this, I was told that they quote at a discount for new clients - sure this should be *******? I suggested that I cancel my current policy and take out a new one with the online quoted rates -however this is not allowed because I am an existing client.<br> The explanation for the increase in rates is the high cost of repairs, the high jack possibility, and that I drive a fast car - all these things were in place when they happily took my premiums for the past five years! What warrants a 66% increase now????
