Dissapointed & tired of First for Women.
I was involved in a car accident on the 26th of August 2017; and the outcome of the claim was that the car will be repaired. The accident was fatal and both airbags came out; however First For Women decided to repair the car. The car was towed to Gateway Auto-body in Centurion on the 15th of September; and my car was there for 6 months. All those months I was paying the insurance, they even increased my basic excess from R10300 to R10700 and premiums from R1751 to R2026.52 in Feb.2018. My insurance package didn't include a courtesy car & I tied asking first for women to assist with courtesy car but they refused. I got my car back on the 9th of March 2018 (after paying an total excess of R12 850) & I took it to an assessor only to find out that it was not properly repaired. First for Women arranged a tow truck to take the car back to Gateway Auto-body on the 19th Of March 2018 , at least this time insurance rented a car for me & I was told to fetch the car on the 20th of April 2018. When I got my car; upon inspection I noticed that the dashboard was still loose, the bonnet was not properly aligned, there was a scratch on the door & the panel beaters claimed they didn't touch the door but it is stated clearly that they painted the door, passengers right-back door is not aligned, the window washer bottle is damaged, only one key is working although is a warranty issue I was told they took the car to the agents . I took my car again to an independent assessor because there was a strange sound coming from the front wheel, I was told the shock absorber is damaged. I've been sending emails to the assessor in charge of my case but he is not responding & the it's looks like the damaged is getting worse. My car is a Mazda 2 1.5 Dynamic 2017; I bought it last year Feb and is only on 24000 km but its value has depreciated tremendously. First For Women should have written off the car in the first place & clearly Gateway Auto-body failed to repair it.
