Disappointing and unprofessional service from 1st for Woman
Such a disappointment! I drove my Chev Aveo during a thunderstorm, after hitting over a speed hump my car became sluggish and all the sensor lights on my dashboard came on. After a few metres my car switched off.I called my insurance and got my car towed. 2days later I phoned my insurance to enquire about my car, I was told the assessor will have a look and call me back. When I received a call back (4 day's later), it was from a very disrespectful, arrogant and rude person. He tells me that my car is not flooded inside, I was so confused about what he was talking about. I informed him obviously I never reported that my car was flooded, I told him what had transpired whilst driving during the storm and he seemed not bothered by what I was saying and tells me that I had put in a claim last year and cancelled it and my car is old it's wear and tear. I was so upset dealing with such an unprofessional person that spoke about incidents that had nothing to do with what I was experiencing at present. I phoned my insurance and informed them about the call I just received from their assessor and the lady was obviously very acquainted with his behaviour with their clients as she confirmed his name to me before I could even tell her. I told her that I don't want this man dealing with my vehicle but clearly that did not concern them at all as he was still dealing with my claim. He sent my car to an auto Centre in Springfield where it just sat for almost a week. After following up as to what's happening I was informed that they need to strip my cars engine to find out where water entered the engine. I was not in agreement with them stripping my engine but they were adamant that that's the only way for them to find out what happened to my vehicle.(I couldn't understand why they wouldn't do a diagnostic test 1st to find out why the service lights came on).I had no choice but to agree as they were the "professionals" and my car was in their yard. During this time my insurance never bothered contacting me regarding my vehicle. Almost every 2nd or 3rd day between my husband and I, we were phoning the insurance company, which we only received empty promises and timelines that was never fulfilled and we could never get to speak to someone in a senior position who could give us exact timeframes. Calling the auto Centre was another futile and frustrating exercise as the only response we would receive is they can't tell us anything, we need to contact our insurance. Every week the story would change and weeks were passing by with nothing being done. I had taken a courtesy vehicle on my insurance so that in the event that my car was ever involved in an accident I would have transport whilst my insurance was assisting me regarding my vehicle. A whole month has passed by and the only excuses I've been hearing was that they are waiting for experts to look at my vehicle. So if they are waiting for experts to view my vehicle why was it sent to the auto Centre then? Clearly they didn't know what was happening with my vehicle or didn't know how to fix the issue. My car had switched off after hitting the speed hump, it could have been a electrical/mechanical fault. I would expect the "professionals" to figure it out. I received a report from the "experts" telling me what they had found after my engine was stripped but nothing indicating why my engine did not start. Because that night when I tried starting my engine the ignition was swinging but my engine was not starting. On their report they talk about the Valve stems which have nothing to do with a car not starting. My car was functioning properly I never had any issues with it. Even if I give them the benefit of them telling me that 4 valve stems were bent that was still not a reason for my car not to start and I'm not an "Expert". A month later I'm left with a car that has its engine completely stripped lying in a yard and excuses which is a load of ****! I need to return my courtesy vehicle. I NOW HAVE NO VEHICLE AND NO WAY FORWARD FROM MY INSURANCE COMPANY AS TO HOW I WILL BE ASSISTED AFTER A MONTH OF BEING GIVEN THE RUN AROUND. Not even an extension of the courtesy vehicle, till this issue is resolved as I have disputed their claim of me being responsible after hitting the speed hump and my car switching off! Is that not an "Accident" as the roads were wet and my vision on the road was challenged due to poor visibility during the thunderstorm.
