Delusioned me...

In February 2024 I informed the insurer of my car and household content, I'd like to cancel, after being presented with a better offer from a rival, via telephone call. The consultant asked what my reasons were and I stated the affordability. She outlined my benefits I'd stand to lose etc., which weren't a deal-breaker for me. She then matched what I was gonna pay at Out Surance. But noticing how much less similar vehicle owners are paying for a Polo TSI- and the way life has become so expensive, I, today called First for Women to cancel due to affordability reasons and requesting if they'd be willing to reduce the monthly premium. The response, or the suggestion rather, was that my anniversary is coming in August 2024, then they might reduce it, since there isn't any discounts currently on my profile. To her own admission, in response to my statement that, in the past 4 years, I've never been offered a reduction- well, they " might" have tried calling me, but in 2021, they didn't, as per her records. Here's my thing- if they were genuinely intent on reducing my premium, why not get a hold of me via email? Given that, if I didn't want to cancel in February, no decrease was going to be offered. Would've that then be reason enough to accommodate me today? Why must I wait for August, if my premiums had been increased for the past 4 years? Should your own location also factor in when your risk are determined? No car had been ****** highjacked on the farm I'm residing, so why apply a blanket risk approach? Here I was believing customers are keeping businesses in business...silly of me, right?
