Delay tactics to make payment for written off vehicle.
My car accident happened on 30 January. On the 11 Feb I got a friendly call to say it was uneconomical to fix my car and it would be 'written off' and I would be paid out. All they needed from me were some documents and the spare key, then the payment should take two days to process. From then on it has just been one delay tactic after the other to stall this process. When I couldn't provide the original certificate for the car, it took them two weeks to inform me I could just apply for a duplicate at any Vehicle licensing station. When we arranged for a same day courier, it took them ten days to follow up on where the document had landed. Now that they have located the certificate they have asked me to re-sign and re-send the change of ownership forms that I hand delivered on the 14 February. In the meantime I am without funds, and no car. Any time I requested a status update, the response was ' I will check with so-and so' - no actual reason for delay was ever given. Initially I wrote this to try to get my payment made. While I type, however, I have received an email that it has been done. Haven't got a Proof of payment yet. Let's see.
