Deceiving, Unreliable, Poor Client Services, Questionable cost ethics!
I have been driving for more than 20 years and never had an accident claim on any of my policies. I had to log a windscreen claim last week as it cracked after 5 years of use only to be told my excess is R975. I called a reputable glass supplier who informed me that the windscreen for my vehicle is R750 plus R100 for the rubber. Now how does this explain my excess of R975? How is this giving me a service if I end up paying for the glass in any event? Where does the "insurance" part come in when making monthly payments religeously? This was most defenitely an eye opener for me. No other insurer has such a high glass excess. This only surfaced when their supplier (Glassfit) failed to keep the appointment to change the glass. Poor service all round. I cancelled the claim and will resort to having the glass replaced in my own capacity seeing as it is not viable to use my INSURANCE for this eventuality....and forfeit my no claims history....Not worth it. Very deceiving promises made to their clients.
