Complaint regarding the car fixing and claim
Hi,I had a pothole accident which damaged my car.I went to bmw, which is where the car was checked and was given the quotation for the car costs.I called 1st for women and reported the matter and put in a claim.I also forwarded the quotation from bmw which stated clearly what was wrong with my car.My car was towed on the 6th of July.It stayed with the panelbeaters who were suppose to do assessment for almost 2 weeks who later called and asked what was wrong with the car.Clearly it was never assessed for the duration of 2 weeks.Nonetheless I forwarded the panelbeaters the quotation from bmw thenI went back to my insurance frustrated seeing that nothing has been done to the car, while I was struggling getting to work relying from people’s lifts in this pandemic.Thereafter it took more days to take the care to bmw after the claim was processed. The original claim quote from bmw was 50k something so even as it passed Ayanda Feti the guy I was dealing with from the insurance told me that the total claim was now 30k something. Now because of the claim being lowered the bmw guys fixed what the insurance approved but the problem is that after they fixed what was approved by the insurance, the car didnt pass the test.Bmw contacted 1st for women to lodge an extra claim for the things that caused the car not to pass the test which was there in the original quote that the insurance decided to lower to 30k instead of 50k.Now for almost a week they have not approved the claim that bmw lodged to fix the remaining parts that are damaged. Its been a month and almost an extra week since the car was taken away.Im struggling to do my normal duties and family duties while im getting exposed to covid for relying on taxis when my car is stuck for a month now.But my premium was 1 200 rands, then it went to 1500 in January now I have been told that from this month its gonna be 1700 some odd because of the claim.Im so angry, frustrated and feel let down in these fangerous pandemic times.I always have to call so and keep pushing for amything to happen yet I have never even missed payment even with the premium going up crazily so,I dont inderstand.I urgently need your help.

Yes I did get my car after I wrote here On Helo Peter. But the most unfortunate, painful and disappointing part is that on that same day I drove my car back home I heard some strange noise and gripping coming from the wheels especially when I turn.I called bmw the following day as I still wanted to make sure there is indeed something wrong even after I was told bmw fixed, took the car to pass the test which I was told it did. They said they also test drove the car so all was well.Nonetheles I was told to bring the car back on the following Monday, which I did. After they checked the car I was told I must leave the car because theres something wrong again and they cannot allow me to go back with it otherwise it will be risking the car making an accident.I was told they will order the damaged parts and will get the car on Wednesday which was the following week on 29th of August.I never got the car but instead when I called on that very day was told the part/s are not available at bmw South Africa so they will only receive it in 2 weeks time.I only got a courtesy car on the 1st of September after 2 months not having a car.Since then I was never updated about the car even when I wrote an email to the manager Sunaina she never rep****.Last week Thursday my partner called and was told Sunaina waa not at work, even David and Yanga the guys who have been working with Sunaina hand in hand was also not available so all 3 people were not available that day and they never got back as usual coz thats what they have been doing for the past 3 months. On Friday last week my partner decided to call and we told them we are escalating the matter to the lawyers. That is when we were told they are waiting for the insurance to approve another claim since they now have to fix the car diff.We were told the car will be taken to Durban on Monday to the diff specilialist at Bmw.The most frustrating, unproffessional, stressful behaviour I have ever experienced in a car dealership or insurance. We demanded a written report as to what has made them to keep my car for so long without fixing it.We were told Joel the assessor only came on Thursday to assess the car and they have not approved the claim so the insurance(First for women) is the one that has delayed the processs of fixing the car. That is where we are right now since it is the Monday of taking the car to a diff specialist in Durban after we were told the insurance approved the claim on Friday.
