Claim in review for 8 days so far
My only 3 year old fridge got hit by lightning during the electric storm in my area on the 27 January. On the following Monday, 29 January, I put in a claim for it hoping that they’ll send a technician the same day. As on Tuesday, I didn’t hear from them, I called and after 25 min waiting on the line, I was told that “it’s not 24 hours yet as there’s only 8 working hours in a day”. On Wednesday I called the complaints line and the person I spoke to organised to send assesors to my house to come on Thursday. They told me that they must collect my fridge and inspect it on their premises. They said it’ll take 2-3 business days for them to assess and 1 for Women to come back to me. On 5 February I called the complaints line again and I was told that the assessors verdict is that my R15000.00, 3 years old fridge is beyond repair. She told me that Makhukhu Malatji, who was assigned to assist with my claim since 29 January is supposed to contact me by the end of 6 February. Today is 6 February, 5:20pm and I still haven’t heard from her. What’s going on with 1 for Women insurance? Can someone assist me, please? I’ve been without a fridge for 10 days now.
