Cellphone Claim not paid in full

My phones were ****** from my car, had them blocked, opened a case at SAPS and reported to First For Women. One of the phones, a samsung S5 specified on the policy and another phone not specified. I have received a call that I will only get R600 payout for both the phones after excess is deducted, where as the insured value of the phone is R5000. What is the point of paying an extra amount to specify items if they are not even covered at the insured value. This means that I will pay for a phone for the remainder of the contract and still be without a phone whilst insurance was suppose to give me peace of mind in such an event.

Hello vavac,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

We have referred the matter to the customer relations team to review the merits of the case.

We however need to advise that there is limited cover when items are ****** out of the cabin of the vehicle. This is a specific exclusion on the policy.

We will however provide feedback after the matter has been reviewed.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Kind Regards,

The First for Women Team
