Carless for a month, worst service and absolute worst choice of repair company

If I could I would rate First for Women 0.

After having a minor accident I have been carless now for almost a month. After having to pay a HUGE excess on my FIRST EVER CLAIM, First for Women, and the auto body shop my car was sent to - Smith’s Auto Body Shop in Kuils River, kept on telling me my car would by finished on 20 April. This is after my car has been with the auto body shop for A MONTH TO FIX A WHEEL. I called both First for Women and Smith’s Auto Body Shop numerous times in the two weeks leading up to the 20th April to confirm that my car would be done and they confirmed same.

Come the 20th April, I call Smith’s Auto Body Shop again at 08:00 to confirm and they tell me the car won’t be done on that day, because they need to go pick up rims (which they only ordered two weeks into having my car) and they have to do a wheel alignment. Obviously I called First for Women to complain.

After calling 3-4 times in which they put me through to numerous different consultants and even dropped the line while I was waiting (I had to use R50 of my airtime to listen to their music while waiting for someone to help me) they said they would call me back at 15:00. But they didn’t. So I had to call them upon which they informed me Smith’s Auto Body Shop only has two of my rims and put spare tyres on my other wheels so I can go pick the car up in that condition.

I was fuming because I had to drive to Smith’s Auto Body Shop (which is not in a safe area for Women by the way) after being told I can collect my car and then I’m told the car is in the above condition.

I obviously denied taking the car, because is was not finished and when I asked to see the car Smith’s Auto Body Shop said it was at HiQ.

So I drove to HiQ and low and behold my car had ‘just left’.

First for Women didn’t follow up on the repairs, they choose the WORST repairmen. Either Smith’s Auto Body Shop or First for Women we’re lying to me because both were spinning different stories re my car’s repair status and First for Women barely did anything to help me on the 20th April.

Over and above that I’ve heard about this kind of behavior from First for Women on other occasions.

I will DEFINITELY change insurers and I would strongly advise to choose any insurer except Forst for Women, because they are the absolute worst.
