Big annual increase in monthly premium

I am very dissappointed with 1st for women. I insured my car around November 2014 but in February 2015 I received a letter informing me of the premium increase. The increase was about 26% which is too much. I'm also on a zero basic excess option but my minimum claim amout was also increased by about 40% during this review. I called to find out what influenced such big adjustmnents and I was told that its because my car has a high risk profile. Clearly this should have been explained to me when I took their offer in November? I took up their offer based on the quote they offered at the time. I was not expecting this big adjustment 2 months down the line. I do know that annual increases have to be effected but not 26%?? I need an explanation on this
