BAD SERVICE

Dear Peter,

I hope you are well.

I am writing to formally express my frustration and dissatisfaction regarding the handling of my insurance claim by 1st for Women Insurance.

The matter relates to an incident where I drove into a pothole, which caused significant damage to my vehicle. Following the assessment by the insurer’s assessor, I was informed that the repair costs were estimated at approximately R15,000. I was further advised that because my excess was allegedly higher than the repair costs, I should repair the vehicle at my own expense.

I strongly disputed this assessment, as it was clear from the onset that the damages were far more extensive. The tyre and rim alone cost in excess of R40,000, making the initial assessment unreasonable and inaccurate.

In an effort to resolve the issue, I then took the vehicle to Land Rover for a proper diagnosis and inspection. The findings revealed damages amounting to approximately R180,000.

Despite this, 1st for Women Insurance continues to delay the matter and has been sending me from pillar to post without any meaningful assistance or resolution. I am forced to follow up with them almost daily, yet no progress is being made. The level of service and lack of accountability has been extremely disappointing and stressful.

I kindly request your urgent intervention in this matter, as the delays and poor handling of the claim are unacceptable.

I look forward to your prompt assistance and feedback.
