Appalling Service

On the 2nd of May 2024 I report an incident to my insurer that my rear vehicle screen is broken and needs a replacement. On 6 May 2024 it was approved and that is after I called them to follow up. I was referred to Glasfit of which I chose the branch in Bellville as it is closer to my workplace. My query was assigned to Laaiq whom advised they do not have stock and that they will order one from France which will take 7-8 weeks to arrive. I then asked for something to cover up the back since there's no window, of which I was given a green plastic to cover this, when I questioned the colour he advised they do not have transparent covers. He then advised they are looking for an alternative glass to fit on the vehicle up until the original arrives, at that point I was happy , atleast I would be safe and warm inside while driving as it is very cold when I drive without the glass. On 14 May 2024 I received a message from his advising they have the alternative glass in store as promised and they are just waiting on the insurer to give an authorization. 15 May 2024 I then called the insurer and was put through to the claims department , I spoke to a lady by the name of Hailey and explained my situation. She advised she will contact the Glasfit branch then get back to me. She then got back to me a few minutes after advised she has spoken to them and the alternative glass with be fitted then removed once the original arrived. I then contacted Glasfit again for an update after speaking to Hailey to enquire when I can come through as I was told by Hailey this was approved. Laaiq advised that their head office is now declining this ,then I told him but the insurer has approved where does your head office fit in all this ? When requesting to speak to his manager I was told he is not in , he handed over the phone to a female colleague. Again I explained the situation to her , she advised she will contact the claims department and get back to me. After an hour or so she got back to me and advised she spoke to Dimakatso whom advised she has escalated to a manager , and once approval is done she will contact me as she was waiting for an email from the manager for a go ahead. On the morning of 16 May 2024 I called in again and was advised the agent assisting in my claim will call me back. I even sent an email to their complaints department but no one seems keen to assist. I am a female who travels with a small child every morning , also using my vehicle to travel to work every morning . It is not safe at all without a window! Why must I wait 7-8 weeks while I was promised an alternative glass would be fitted in my vehicle ??? How is 1st for women protecting their clients from daily risks ? It is safe to drive around with a green plastic , when you cannot see other cars behind you ????!
