An Experience from Hell
On 19 April 2025, I lodged a claim with 1st for Women, knowing there might be delays due to the holidays—but I never expected outright **stalling and incompetence**.
The process supposedly began on 22 April, but inspector Kavesh took **three whole working days** to visit the tow yard. **Three days** just to do a basic inspection. He finally checked the car on the 25th and told me he’d call on the 30th with an update.
On 29 April, I followed up **out of pure instinct**, only to be hit with **complete nonsense**—I was told they were waiting for confirmation from an insurance company I had **never even been covered by**. How does such an error even happen? After correcting them, I hoped things would move forward.
Then, on 2 May, Kavesh sent me a **dismissive, indifferent** SMS saying he was still “busy with the administrative process” and would only update me on the 8th. Furious, I called the call center, where the story **suddenly changed again**. Now, they claimed the administrative process was done, but my account of the incident was being validated. **And to make things worse**, I was suddenly expected to go fetch the police report **myself** and send it to them—something they never mentioned before.
At this point, it was **crystal clear** that my claim was being deliberately **dragged out**—possibly **in the hopes that I’d just withdraw it out of frustration**. I demanded that my case be prioritized and asked Sifiso Mjiqiza to transfer me to someone who would actually help. Instead, I got Mkhumkhu Malatji, who had the **audacity** to talk over me and even tell me that if I **didn’t stop complaining, I wouldn’t be assisted**.
Now, after lodging a formal complaint and informing 1st for Women about additional damages caused by **their towing company**, I am being told by Marco Adonis that unless I have **photographic proof**, they won’t investigate. **So let me get this straight:** am I really expected to **tow my own car out of their service provider’s custody** just to take pictures for them—so they can actually do their job properly?
It is beyond clear that 1st for Women is **not interested** in assisting their customers. Instead, they make things as difficult and infuriating as possible. Is this how they treat all claimants? Or just the ones they hope will **give up**?
