Absolutely disappointing!!

They take the premiums from your account even though you have cancelled the policy!

I had a 1st for Women policy as well as the VAP products, I called their call centre on the 20th of June to cancel my policy. The first lady I spoke to was nice and understood that she can not match my premium and cancelled my policy. The gentleman from the VAP department however kept trying to persuade me to keep the policy even though I told him I could no longer afford it and that I'm moving my insurance elsewhere.

Come the 25th of June, they are the first ones to take from my account for a policy that I HAVE ALREADY CANCELLED!! I cant even reverse this debit order because of your silly debicheck mandates. I called their call centre and spoke to Nomfundo Makhubela who firstly wanted me to wait 3-5 working days for the funds to reflect and another 3-7 working days for the refund to be processed. When I told her that I can not wait that long she said to me that I can send her my bank statement to which she will send to the refunds department and this was sent. Why is it that when I called the call centre again on the 27th of June (because Nomfundo did not have the decency to respond to my emails although I have her personal email address) that I was told you guys cant use the bank statement because I blurred out the other amounts on the bank statement such as my remaining balance??? Being told that "you need to see that the balance in-deed did decrease after the debit"?? In this day and age and with the whole POPIA act, I can not be disclosing such information such as my bank balance knowing very well that you guys have my personal details such as my address and car details on file. That is not safe. So just because I do not want to send a bank statement showing the balance after your debit orders I need to wait for who knows how long to get the money back THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU??

I need the money to be refunded back to me and I do not want to be told to send a bank statement that shows the remaining balance cause i will not be doing that. As an insurer, you guys need to do better. I have worked with clients' bank statements who have also blurred out the amounts due to safety and it has never been a concern.

I expect a call within 24 hours from someone who can confirm that the refund is being processed and confirm the timeframe for this refund. I am tired of calling your call centres and being told the same thing and dealing with consultants who do not have the common decency to respond to emails even till this day.
