My wife went to FFW, without going anywhere else for a second quote when insuring her 8 year old Honda Ballade for R76 000. I only now find out that she was given a quote of R780 and immediately started paying the premiums. This month she asked me whether a 40% increase over one year, starting May 2015, with no claims, or any change to the risk, was reasonable. When I contacted FFW all they would say was that a risk profile is done annually and that was the new figure!! Needless to say, I immediately cancelled the insurance, and she is now insured with Budget for the same value for R439, with a R2 000 higher excess, The purpose of this posting is to inform people that FFW appear to take advantage that some woman may be misled by their FFW statements - my experience, you can definitely do better than insuring with FFW.
