4 months without a car
I signed up with FFW in 2013, never had an accident nor made a claim until recently when I was involved in an accident on the 14th of May. Up until today, 4 months later, I still don't have a car. Firstly it took time for the claim to be authorized because the consultant that was assigned my claim was on leave..... After numerous follow ups I was told that they're still waiting for confirmation from my previous insurer...... really...... when they were deducting the monthly premiums, they never sought confirmation. I have to constantly check up on the assessor, the panel beater on a day to day basis. It's so absurd. The stories that I get are contradicting, I'm not given proper feedback about what is the state of the car, I don't know what to believe anymore. The only time I get an update from the insurance assessor is when I send an email. It's ridiculous... I've incurred a lot of money on car hire, Uber rides and alternative means of transport till to date. Not forgetting that my insured address is Johannesburg though the accident happened in the Easter Cape, I am still expected to go and fetch the car there when the repairs are finally completed...... Now I am asked whether I previously had a accident before because there's a steering wheel light than is on and they don't understand because the accident was at the back. I'm not a mechanic, how am I expected to respond about "lights" in the dashboard......... This is just ridiculous.
