was issued a courtesy vehicle by my insurance through 1st Car Rental. While the vehicle was in my possession, it obtained a small stone chip on the windscreen. After the vehicle was collected, I was shocked to receive a bill for R6,185.06 for a full windscreen replacement. The vehicle was delivered to me with two existing stone chips, which I noticed immediately. When I contacted 1st Car Rental, I was told that they are not insured and that I must pay for the damage because I did not sign for additional windscreen cover. The delivery agent, however, did not explain any terms or optional cover — he simply presented a tablet for me to sign without any proper briefing. I find this practice misleading and *********, as customers are not properly informed or protected.
