Scaly people, scaly compnay

We were referred to First Car Rental by a family member who uses them for business. We rented a car that a woman rear ended. First Car deducted the "deposit" credit card transaction twice, then took 10 days to refund us for the double deduction - no added amount to cover the interest accrued. Then they made it our problem to chase after the purpetrator, who was extremely rude. We have been trying since the first week of January to get them to chase down Budget Insurance to settle the claim and refund us the money. Why I say scaly? Who benefits and who loses when high interest is charged on credit cards?
