NON-RELEASE OF BLOCKED FUNDS

I booked flights on FlySafair and was offered First Car Rental at a very affordable price. Also, the service at Port Elizabeth airport at pick-up was great. And so, when you have to pay them, great service until you return the vehicle. I was told that the blocked amount on my credit card would be released within 7 working days - which did not happen. When I called a very helpful lady assisted me and said she will phone the bank as the bank must release the funds and read the correct credit card number back to me. Nonsense, they must inform the bank to do so …….. That is not my issue. My issue is the fact that she called me back and told me the reason for the funds not having been released is that the amount was blocked on my DEBIT and not CREDIT card. Bull!!!!! My bank statement confirms CREDIT CARD and so did she by reading back my CREDIT CARD number. Apparently now First Car Rentals must write a letter to me which I must take into the bank bla, bla, bla. Fast to block …. fails to release. I will never, ever rent from you again.
