I forgot my GPS in their car ... now their staff stole it!!!

I extremely unhappy and disgusted at the poor service in the PE Airport branch of First Car Rental! I called that branch the moment I landed in JHB OR Airport on realizing i had ( again ) forgotten my TomTom GPS in the cubbyhole of my hired vehicle. I spoke to Vuyo , their agent, who promised to check with the guy who received the car. Two hours later i had still not received a call back! Only on my second call for feedback i was told by Vuyo they couldn't find the GPS. The guy told her he didnt check the car, before it was taken to the washing bays, because it was raining.

I then called their CALL CENTRE, who then gave me the branch managers name, who i had to call again, at the branch. I got hold of Ravica. She wasn't much help either. She was more concerned about being called on her day off from work than assisting , and advised that a guy by the name of Innocent will have to investigate and call me back. She was very arrogant, unhelpful, and totally lacking in customer service. If that is the quality of management in that branch ...no wonder it is full of *******!!!

Innocent called and advised he couldn't find my GPS, and also said the guy who received my car had also gone home for the day. He promised to call me back the next day ( Thursday) once he spoke had spoken with him. I still haven't heard anything from Innocent, 6 days later. Ravica herself hasn't bothered to follow up on my complaint either.

Here is my issue with the PE branch - when the rental car is returned, they are SUPPOSED to be checking the car for scratches , bumps and everything else otherwise why do they keep a deposit for possible damages!!! How is it that they can claim they didn't see my GPS in the cubbyhole when i called within an hour, and 55 minutes of dropping the car!!! Unless they STOLE it! What is their policy on lost property???? Surely they owe it to their customers to RETURN their lost property found in their cars! It doesn't become a finders keepers!!!

This is the 3rd time i have my GPS ****** from that branch!!! This is totally unacceptable.
