FOUND BUT LOST

I lost a set of keys in a vehicle we returned on Monday 5 December 2016 which we rented from First Car Rental Cape Town International Airport. The person who returned the vehicle did not know whose keys it was so he just handed it in to the consultant when he returned the vehicle. Only about two days later we figured out that it was my lost keys. I immediately contacted First Car but they could not find any keys. They did not ask for the name of the person renting the vehicle, or the registration number of the vehicle, or any reference number. All they wanted was the name or discription of the person who received the vehicle.

The keys were returned and given to somebody. Its not that we asked IF a key was found somewhere in one of their vehicles. I explained to the person that the keys have my gym tag, access to my house and access to the office, but it was like they couldnt care less.

Let this be a warning to anybody considering using First Car Rental - if you are somebody who misplace wallets, or cellphones, or (in my case) a set of keys, think twice before using First Car Rental - to them its a matter of "finders keepers"!
