It's Friday 9th of July 2021. I'm travelling to KZN (King Shaka Int Airport) and since I don't have someone to pick me up at the airport, I decide to lease a car from First Car Rentals. They have a very nice special, if you booked FlySafair flights, which is tempting, don't fall for it, because you will pay extra fees which you don't know of.

I decide to take this, since I have never used them before. Car to be returned on "Monday - 12 July 2021".

This is my story: On Sunday 11 July, there are riots/ protests all over KZN; roads are closed due to blockades of debris and burning tires on the street. A normal person would not drive under these conditions to return the car just because the contract says so. You do not wanna risk your life, just because you need to return the car.

I call the their offices (First Car Rental, King Shaka Intl Airport) first thing in the morning, to explain that I cannot return the car under these circumstances and riots all over KZN. One of their consultants, tells me they'll get back to me, I waited and waited they did not get back to me. Only after I called for the second time, Carry / Cari (Regional Operations Manager) tells me that I need to return the car or else they will still charge or bill me... WT*.. Who would drive under these conditions I asked, they responded, they gonna have to extend the vehicle until the riots are over. WAIT: Does this mean if the riots and protests / road blockades continue until July 30th I will have to pay for this???? WOW.

This clearly shows that you will also pay, should there be unforeseen circumstances like (Earthquakes), they clearly all about money, and they will do anything to reap your pockets off. Should there be an opportunity, they will make sure they reap you of your money.

Well, I gave them a go ahead to deduct whatever amount they needed, clearly I was paying them so my life could be safe, because I was'nt going to risk my life just so I could return the car under very harsh conditions. Contract (***).

Who would have drove to return the car? Under those conditions? CHOOSE ANOTHER CAR RENTAL, NOT FIRST CAR RENTAL.
