Car seats

I booked a car rental with First car rental online and at the time specified that we required 2 child seats for my 11 month old baby and 3 year old son. When I arrived in Joburg after travelling for more than 20 hours they only had booster seats available and had to get the child seats from their depot which resulted in us having to wait around with overtired children. The seats arrived and both were in bad condition and no instructions to fit. None of the staff seemed to want to rectify this at the time so with no other option we ended up fitting this in the vehicle. We have rented the vehicle for 6 weeks and cannot afford to travel around the country with unsafe child restraints. I will be taking this up with First car rental in the hope that they can provide us age appropriate, safe and clean car restraints as required under South African road rules which one would have expected when booking and specifiying child seats at the time of making the booking.
