Car Hire ******* Charges

We had a car arranged by our insurance company from First Car in Retreat for one week whilst my own car was in for repair. I was astounded when upon returning the vehicle I was charged for a full valet at a cost of R750. We had literally taken our 2 dogs on a 5 minute drive on one bright sunny day to get them for a longer walk. The manager told me the car was covered in dog hairs and sand and that there was an 'odour'. We put down blankets across the back seat before the dogs went near the car and as to the odour I have no response. I expected to be charged for a vacuum but R750 for a full valet is ******ion, I am sure that FirstCar have their own valet service and don't outsource so just another way to ******* clients. As for the sand, may I suggest that they never rent another car out to anyone living in Hout Bay - sand is everywhere! We are pensioners and this charge was a real shock, they need to be more open about what the charges will be - would never recommend them to anyone after this. In our humble opinion the car was pretty much spotless on it's return
