BE WARNED : CAR RENTAL RIP-OFF

This is the reply I received from this car rental company used along the Garden Route recently, Their bill for vacuuming the beach sand off the carpets was an EXCESSIVE R750 with no warning given to the client at collection. They do warn about filling the car with petrol before returning and certainly could do the same in this case. I am very annoyed at their high handed approach which at the age of 72years I have never received before from a car rental company. BE WARNED "Please be advised that when a vehicle is prepared for your pick-up, we ensure that it is presented in a clean and road-ready condition. The valet charge is outlined in your Booking Confirmation and Terms and Conditions. In this instance, the amount of sand found inside the vehicle required additional cleaning and vacuuming beyond our standard cleaning process.

While routine cleaning is included for all rental vehicles, a valet charge applies when a vehicle is returned with excessive dirt, sand, mud, or similar substances. Standard levels of dust or dirt are covered by our normal cleaning; however, any excessive cleaning requirements are subject to valet charges.

Clients are welcome to make use of a car wash at their own cost before returning the vehicle, as this can prevent valet charges."
