Poor work conditions & unfair labour practice
I was working with D&A Shuttle sub contracted to First car rental. Our duties was to move cars from Depo to Branches. My first Query is that we don't work according to a monthly schedule. Your given a shift everyday telling you where you working Tomorrow You don't have time to plan your own life. If you have a funeral to attend you told that you should report 2 weeks before.
If you go a deliver a car in Nelspruit you get paid R170 plus R55 for food. The car you bringing back from any branch you don't get paid for it as your told that it's a lift to bring you back to the branch. But FCR pays D&A for both cars and driver get paid for only one car. If you get a windscreen crack or any damage with the car you bringing back you must pay for it but you don't get paid for it. Basic conditions of employment are too hard we work because we need to support our families.
Contract says Basic salary is R4800 but there's no basic as you have to work more hours to make that R4800.
There's another one called MCC if you move one car for a day you get paid only R56 from 6am to 18H00. The client we serving by moving their cars don't say anything about this situation we therefore ask Labour to assist us in touture we going through.
If you resign they take R1100 from your salary stating that you must give 7days notice.
I don't know what does First car rental says when they see new drivers every week. D&A Shuttle is treating drivers like Trash especially the Manager Justyne. The owner is worse cause if you want to address something he will tell you I will shake that tree you see and 100 drivers will fall from that tree.
Everything happens in the eyes of First car rental management and they don't say anything as the big bosses don't see what we go through. We going through a lot Though we do our best that we move FCR car's safe as possible. Driver's get fired for things that they didn't even do.
I therefore plead for intervention from all right sources that can be of assistance. If possible FCR top management should intervene.
