Bad quality First Ascent backpacks

I shall never buy another First Ascent backpack in my life. I have had two - a bladder backpack for cycling that I purchased in 2005. The straps perished so badly that I can tear it apart with my bare hands, although the fabric itself shows no signs of fading or perishing. The second was a daypack (35 liters) that I purchased in 2008 and have already had repaired five times for stitching issues. Every single time I use it for its intended purpose (hiking and fieldwork), the stitching comes apart. First Ascent advertises their goods as being of good quality. I agree that their clothes are indeed of very good quality. However, the business really needs to up their game with producing backpacks, or they are going to start losing serious money.
