Defective job done with installation of a fire place by Fire Empire-Fireplaces,Braais,Gas and installations: After numerous requests to fix the leaks coming from the roof, and attempts at not getting it right, the water leaks from the rain have now caused damage to the ceiling. The water floods the house and furniture needs to be moved. In cases where we are not home, the main floor is full of water and is now causing additional problems for us. We have asked time and time again that this matter be resolved once and for all but we are not getting joy. Great people but no sense of urgency and now this will cost more than the initial problem. I would not recommend buying a fireplace from Fire Empire Cape based on my experience. The sales consultant, Jenny, was friendly and helpful during the purchase process. However, after the fireplace was installed, we lit our very first fire and the glass on the door cracked. We reported the issue immediately, but instead of treating it as a possible product or warranty problem, the company said the damage was our fault. The owner has quoted us R8,500 to replace the glass. What has been most disappointing is the lack of after-sales support. In our experience, once the sale was completed, the company was unwilling to assist in resolving the issue. We also felt that the warranty and guarantees discussed during the sales process were not honoured in our case. This has been a very frustrating experience, especially considering the amount of money we spent. Based on our experience, I would advise potential customers to carefully review the warranty terms and after-sales support before purchasing from Fire Empire Cape. Stay away from this company.
