Boycott Fionas Fabrics Randburg

I must mention that as a last resort I went to Fionas to find some lining, which was eventually located….all well and good. Then I moved to the patterns table, where I had to listen to the man sitting at his elevated ‘office’ shouting to the staff to ‘come here’, ‘where is this money’ and he then had a long conversation with a staff member standing right down the passage, unbelievably rude… Eventually I found a suitable pattern, and guess what, as is mostly the case at Fionas, they did not have it….and I could not find another similar one. So, I told my saleslady I just wanted the lining, she came with me to the desk and I duly paid, my goods were put in a packet and off to my car I walked. Then I thought, ‘hold on, my total should have been R90 but I was charged R90.60, so back I went to the cash desk and enquired why. I was told the 60c was for the packet!! My jaw dropped, and I told the cashier that out of respect to her customers she should at least ask whether or not a packet is required, and advise the customer that there is a charge – the supermarkets charge 25c!! She shrugged her shoulders and said, ‘but we tell ‘them’ all the time to mention it’…. Pass the buck, find a scapegoat – unbelievable! I urge all people reading this who are seamstresses or have a need to purchase any products sold by Fionas to please support the competition where they will be treated with respect and where the management will value their staff and treat them without the disdain I witnessed. The management at Fionas is a disgrace.
