No feedback for overpriced iPhone

<p>Unlike many on here, my email claims have always been approved on time, not more than 3 days. However twice I have faced challenges in getting the cellphone model that is insured.</p> <p> </p> <p>In March this year, my daughter's iPhone 5 had a cracked screen and after failing to be repaired it needed to be replaced. I was told Edgars stores do not stock iPhones and was told to take any cell of the same value and I refused. I then wrote the complaint here after which Mr Tsotetsi called me and said they sourced an iPhone 6 for me for R9,999, since iPhone 5s were no longer available in the market, he said. So I was required to pay in R1999 plus R800 excess; which I did.</p> <p> </p> <p>On 3 November the iPhone 6 was ****** but iPhones 6 is again not available in Egdars. Instead one store in PTA said they have USED iPhone5s retailing for about R4500! I contacted Mr Tsotetsi again and he later said he has sourced an iPhone 6 for R10,999 for which I must pay R2,999 in addition to excess! I protested about the value, He said they have a new supplier that charges the higher price. I am not prepared to pay R1,000 more for the cell because enquiries with majority of iPhone suppliers and iPhone stores confirmed that the iPhone 6 was still priced at R9,999. If anything the price should drop and not rise!!</p> <p>Its been a week since Mr tsotetsi said he escalated the query and today his mail says he is on annual leave.</p> <p> </p> <p>If need be I will take the further steps of contacting the Ombudsman.</p> <p> </p>
