Finrite poor service
I am highly disappointed with the service we have received from Finrite.
As my family have contract phones with Telkom, we insured our mobile phones through Finrite as it is their preferred service provider. In March/April 2019 my son was ****** of his phone. We reported it at the police station and Finrite Adminstration. After several enquiries I was told to pay an excess of R800 and the reference TC007652. I understood the excess to be R500 unless one is claiming for a 2nd time in a 12 month period. Needless to say it was our 1st claim in a 12 month period. Nevertheless I paid R800 via EFT from my FNB account.
Lo and behold, after many phone calls and emails we were told that the reference on the correspondence was incorrect and that the correct one is TC007652. They requested a Proof of payment which we mailed to them. They then wanted proof that the handset was blacklisted, IMEI number, etc. Eventually in December they wanted an affidavit again stating that the handset was ******. We once again sent the documentation that they requested. We then sent numerous follow-up emails with no response from Finrite.
It is now 1 year later and we neither have our handset replaced nor do we have our R800 refunded. Surely if the claim is not going to be processed then the R800 excess must be refunded. This cannot be a double whammy for the client and business as usual for Finrite.
Telkom can partner or recommend Finrite fo their subscribers to their own detriment. Finrite cannot treat clients like commodities. Finrite are glad to accept premiums but reluctant to pay claims.
