Device Insurance Not Cancelled

I recently cancelled a device contract with Telkom and along with that I also cancelled the device insurance I had signed up for at the beginning of my contract. Both these cancellations where done on the Telkom website. I went to a Telkom shop to check if indeed my cancellation requests had been successfully logged and the customer service consultant confirmed that indeed the 2 cancellations where on the system. I cancelled my insurance on the 13th of September 2019.

On the 19th of October 2019 (36 days after my cancellation request), I receive a welcome letter from Finrite (Telkom's Insurance Partner) for device insurance I did not sign up for. I respond with proof of the cancellation I made 36 days ago and the Finrite agent told me that they did not receive that request and therefore I need to wait another 30 days before the insurance can be cancelled. This is definitely not treating customers fairly. It is not my responsibility as a client to ensure that communication flows seamlessly between Telkom and it's insurance partner. If Telkom did not forward my cancellation request last month to Finrite, I should not be inconvenienced by their inefficient service.

Therefore, I expect my insurance to be cancelled immediately because I did notify more than 30 days in advance and if that is not the case, I will be forwarding my case to the Ombudsman.
