Shocking Business Practice and *********

My vehicle was brought to Finn Auto Repairs and Diagnostics in Port Elizabeth over 2 months ago, now going into the 3rd month. What we were quoted for, was 13hrs of work for R7000. As stated above, it took over 2 months to work on the vehicle. I was then informed that the work was done but the vehicle was still not fixed. I was then advised that it needed more work done and I was quoted a further R2500. This was meant to be 3hrs worth of work, which took over 2 weeks. This still didn't fix the problem. I was then told that it could be the timing of the injectors and that would cost a further R1700. This is when I refused. I asked to speak to the Manager, as I have been dealing with someone from sales Tiffany Rabie. She informed me that the Business does not have a manager; which is unbelievable. When I asked for the owner's number, I was informed that they don't give out their number. So essentially, you cannot speak to anyone regarding to poor workmanship and ********* behavior. I would advise that you do not utilize this business and I am not the only one; please see other reviews. It is shocking service and fleecing you of your money without fixing the problem. You further have nowhere to escalate the matter too, when dissatisfied.

The Jeep was towed to us from Grahamstown as a non runner.  We asked for 13 hours labour to ascertain what was wrong with the vehicle and the injectors were caked in the engine with what is called black death, it is a time consuming process to free the injectors and do the necessary work, due to the process, it is not 13 consecutive hours, in between, the injectors were soaking for various periods of time, to loosen the carbon.  The quote was not for parts, as discussed with your husband.  Once we got the vehicle running, which is what it came in for, we picked up other problems, which we would not know until we got the vehicle started.  We did what the vehicle came in for, it is up to you if you want to remedy the other problems with your vehicle.
We have no intentions of fleecing any of our customers and would make no sense why we would try do that.  It is unfortunate when vehicles are not maintained properly and there are numerous things wrong the vehicle, furthermore, the full history of the vehicle has not been disclosed to us, so unfortunately we are not in control of all that is wrong with the vehicle.  Considering we have at least a dozen cars that are booked in each day and we have been going for 12 years and only received 9 negative responses, that means we have a small percentage of dissatisfied customers.  We do take customer complaints seriously and do our best to remedy them.
Finn Auto Repairs employs competent people and the owners are hands on and therefore do not feel it necessary to have a manager.  When issues arise the employees liaise with the owners and give the necessary feedback.  Owners private numbers are just that, and if it is necessary to discuss an issue with the owner the office telephone number is all that is required.  We trust when your vehicle leaves our premises you will be satisfied and realise that we have in fact completed the repair for what the vehicle actually came in for.
