Unauthorised Inquiry on my Credit profile

I am very angry with this company, I paid their account 10 years ago, but yesterday a credit inquiry was done on my name. This is not acceptable this affect my score, inquiry stays for 12 months on my profile, I did not give anyone concern nor receive a call from anyone to go through my credit profile, PPI protect us from this yet companies don't take action on perpetrator's
