Personal Protection Plan Claim

Due to covid-19, I have lost income since the company I work for does not profit anymore. FinChoice has the following on their Personal Protection Plan:

In the event of an Insured Person becoming unemployed or experiencing the loss of income other than as a result of permanent or temporary disability, the benefit provides a monthly payment of the Insured Person’s obligations that become due and payable: (i) for a period of 12 months; (ii) during the remaining repayment period of the credit agreement; or (iii) until the Insured Person finds employment or is able to earn an income. The benefit will be paid for whichever is the shorter period. • The unemployment or loss of income claim event date, as determined by Guardrisk, is the date on which the Insured Person ceases to earn an income.

When I call to claim, they (agents) they were instructed to say I cannot claim for this. I want to challenge them as it clearly states I can claim. I need a senior to please make me understand
