****my behaviour
I am a customer of FinChoice and also use their PayStretch facility. On 11 March 2026, I requested a settlement amount for my loan, received the quote, and paid it in full immediately.
My last legitimate transaction before settlement was on 8 March – only one transaction that day.
FinChoice then misallocated my settlement payment to a different 24‑month loan. After multiple calls and emails, a consultant finally acknowledged the error. However, my account was not closed as instructed – it still showed as active on the app.
A few days later, a new balance appeared. When I called, FinChoice claimed this balance came from a transaction dated 18 March. But that “18 March” transaction is actually the same transaction from 8 March – just backdated on FinChoice’s system. On the PayStretch app, the transaction correctly shows as 8 March.
Despite my many emails and calls to both FinChoice and PayStretch, they have not acknowledged the error or responded. Worse, they have now debited an unauthorised instalment for this false balance from my bank account.
I have asked repeatedly:
· To close the account with a zero balance · To reverse the unauthorised debit order · To provide a paid‑up letter confirming my 11 March settlement
FinChoice has ignored all of this. I will not be ****med
I will surely escalate to the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and the Credit Ombud.
