Beware of misleading naming. Know what "activate" means.
Please be advised that periodically, the Finchoice app will require you to "activate" your account. This activation means that they will do a credit inquiry to assess your eligibility for a credit increase. I made the mistake of clicking "activate" and filled in the form to confirm all my details. Suddenly I reached the end and I saw a "Congratulations" you qualify for a R10 000 increase" I did not want to checj if I qualify for an increase I simply wanted ny account to remain active. I did not click confirm because I did not want this affecting my credit score. I was too late. I backed out but and an inquiry has been made and I still have the app pressing me to "activate". I sent an email to customer service about the misleading name and how this blemish will be in my records for a whole year when I did not ask for it. I have never recieved a less helpful response in my life. He or she kept giving me definitions on what a credit inquiry is. It was useless talking to them. The Finchoice service itself I enjoyed but the customer service really put me off. Plus I hate being cornered. Now I have an inquiry on my account that will be there for a whole year.
