Misleading information leading to purchasing wrong item

My complain is with Fila outlet Woodmead. On December I went with my son to buy him a pair of Fila shoes. It was our first time buying Fila and both my son and I were very excited. We have limited knowledge and understanding of Fila shoes and therefore requested the assistance of a sales lady. We asked her to show us shoes for boys and she gave us a pair of shoes which looked very nice. She told us that the shoes are uni***. We bought the shoes on the 24 December 2020 and paid for then at 11:18. My son wore them on the following day. I somehow felt uneasy about the shoes as they looked feminine, when I did my research, I found out that pair of shoes is for females. I am phoning to complaining about receiving misleading information that led to buying wrong shoes. You can understand that everyone is pressed financially and really I do not have a R1000 to buy for a wrong item. Please can someone investigate and give me feedback on what the wayforward is.
