FIGI phone "uneconomical to repair" under warranty

My son bought a FIGI phone from cash crusaders Wonder park and used it for approximately 1 and a half months. Put the phone away for December exams so that he can concentrate on his studies. When he wanted to use the phone again it would not power on. Returned the phone to cash crusaders and the phone was sent in to FIGI service center in Lanseria. After numerous attempts to get an update we were told motherboard is dead and its uneconomical to repair. Even though it was well within the warranty period due to my son having dropped the phone and the screen had a crack ( Still working) they wont honor any warranty or repair even if we cover the cost of the screen. Uneconomical to repair but on the same report it states "No spares available". R1800 for less than 2 months usage.
