Virgin Active/ Fidelity Group - Not under your watch, I hope!

On Sat the 1st of Sept 2018, we witnessed a despicable disregard for another human being display by Jared Davids, a trainer at Virgin Active in Cedar Square. A security guard was assisting a driver pull out of a parking, which my husband and I were patiently waiting to pull into. Jared, who was in the car behind, decided a minute was too much for him to wait; he sped past us and hit the security guard with his car in the process. While he had plenty of space to manoeuvre around the guard, he drove straight towards him with such ill intended speed. I hate to imagine how badly hurt the guard would have been had he not attempted to jump out of the way... but obviously not in time for Jared to completely miss him. Upon us parking, my husband followed up and learnt that he works for Virgin Active Fourways. He reported the incident to the gym and was requested to fill in a complaint form. We offered also to take the guard to the police station in order to report this incident. The supervisors at Fidelity Group (the company the guard works for) persuaded the guard against this, insisting on holding a meeting between the two rather. They feared that Virgin Active, a tenant at the centre, could cause them to lose their security contract with the centre. To Virgin Active, please note that my husband and I will watch closely how this is dealt with. As members of Virgin Active, we will not subscribe to a company that does not hold their employees & affiliated counterparties to account for such revolting actions which show complete disregard for others. To Fidelity Group, we would hope that you protect your employees and not consider business interests at the expense of their right to justice. At the end of the day, a crime has taken place and justice must take its course!
