Refund of Deposit by ADT/Fidelity

I have been a customer ADT/fidelity for 18+ years of uninturrupted services. On November 23rd, I requested for a quotaion to instal an extra beam at the back of the house since the place was not covered and a break-in occured. The sales agent came to my property to assess my requirement and gave me a quote of R2109.70. I paid the required 50% deposit of R1054.50 on 30th November 2023. Subsequently, the quotation was revised on 7 December to R4456.71. I did not accept this quotation and told the sales agent that it was above my budget and would like to cancel. I sent a formal cancellation letter on 15th December 2023 to request for the reimbursembesent of my deposit of my deposit of R1054.85. I have been following up on the reimbursembersent on daily basis and only today, a rude woman who did not even identify herself told me that they will only credit my account for R158 because I did not pay for their technical services in 2022. I refute this as lie but an attempt to ***** my money. As an ADT customer, I had the right to receive an invoice and a letter of demand of services which were allegeldy not paid. ADT could have even discontinued my services due to non repayment. How is it that a debt of 2022 is surfacing when I demand my deposit? If I had continued with the installation could the deposit be used to pay the alleged 2022 debt that is only being brought to me NOW?

Kindly assist me as you always did to recover my money from ADT. This is so bullying and undermining the consumer rights.

Irene
