If you can, do not use ADT for your properties!

Living in South Africa is tough due to the unreliable public security services. We recently had a ******* on our property, and our sensors did not go off as they should have. ADT arrived and informed us that the car parked outside was blocking the sensor. No tests were conducted to determine if there was something wrong with the sensors. We tested the sensors by arming the house and found that they only work when we're within reach of them. When the sensors were installed, the coverage reached the gate - around 10-12 meters from where the sensors are currently located. We contacted Fidelity ADT to file a complaint, but were told that we would need to pay a call-out fee for a technician to come and investigate the matter. This is frustrating because we have been paying for their services on time and without default, but when we need the services we are paying for, we are being told to pay more. It feels like a big ****! To add to our frustration, our area is barely patrolled by the on-road security, despite us paying for private security and getting very little delivery on it. Additionally, when we initially signed up for the security system, we were not informed of the difference between owning the system and renting it. It appears that their business model is to rent out systems to clients and keep charging them whenever they need to replace parts or inspect their system. All of this is infuriating and we are being **********.
