BEWARE OF THE FINE PRINT!!! So I moved into a new house last year in April. The previous owner had installed ADT but had subsequently cancelled their service. (This should have been a warning sign to me). I then signed up with ADT and was under the impression that it would be on a month to month basis since the equipment was already paid off and installed by the previous owner. On the contract the monthly fee is very visible but the period is not stipulate. You will only see the period in the terms and conditions which are extremely small (another warning sign). My alarm has gone off a few times and each time there is an ADT slip stuck in my gate saying "no access" OMG!! what if someone was keeping me against my will inside? Then ADT says they cannot access if there are vicious dogs. Well I'm *****ed because I have two pit bulls, they are not a dam vicious but because they are pit bulls they will not enter. ADT then offers me a lock and key at an additional cost of R180 so that ADT can come in BUT they still will not come in because of the dogs. So basically I'm paying for the sound of the alarm and hope to God that the burglars are scared away with that. Should I be in physically danger....put a sunflower on my grave.
Best regards,
