Fiat (Fix It All the Time) Real bad service

A brand new Fiat 500 was bought from the Midrand dealership a few years ago. To date, the car has only 13000 kilometres accumulated.

The first issue was bubbling paintwork on the bumper. A warranty claim was approved. The car came back with even more paint bubbles, paint smudges, and scratches. I have seen better backyard paint jobs.

Further to this, the car appeared to have been taken on a joyride by employees at the dealership. All radio stations had been changed and there were soda bottles in the car.

The car was fixed the second time around. A loan car was provided as they had messed up, but they could not provide one for the first repair.

After the first service on the car, I complained about the brakes. They were very low. It went back to them for a brake replacement.

A little while later, the car developed a very bad rattle. The brakes were still low.

The dealership indicated that bushes on the shocks were worn. These had to be replaced. The brakes were low due to a missing bracket. I don't know how they did not replace the bracket when the brakes were replaced previously. The bracket had to be ordered.

The rattle was back after a few days. There was also an indentation under the front right side of the car caused by a hydraulic jack. I took the car back to the dealership.

The diagnosis was that the remaining brake bracket was loose. How does that happen. How did they not secure the remaining bracket.

The bump under the vehicle where the car was jacked. This appeared after the warranty repair on the shocks where the bushes were miraculously worn at only 13000 kms.

The dealership claims that we must have driven over a bump. I assure you that a minor under carriage sc**** would have removed the paintwork. This is not the case here. The bump is clearly the result of slow pressure onto the underside which could only have been a hydraulic jack.

At this point I was also told that the shocks were now bleeding and had to be replaced. They would order the parts.

After repeated follow ups from myself over a few weeks, I finally went to the dealership

and waited there until they sourced the parts from another dealer. I had to make suggestion.

Now they can't slot me in for an emergency repair. I cant drive the car as the rattle is there all the time.

They won't give me a loan car and keep the car until it is repaired.

Arnold is the advisor at the dealership. Lebogang is the consultant supposedly helping me at Fiat. The latter person does not return calls when she says she will.

I am now escalating the matter to the Ombudsman.
