Fiat 500 airbag problem

My 2013 Fiat 500 has a front passenger airbag problem. The airbag started swelling up and caused a crack in the dashboard. I Googled the problem and realised that it seems to be a worldwide problem with the Fiat 500. I phoned Fiat and they informed me that there is no recall on the Fiat 500 due to this problem and that I would have to pay for the repairs myself. This is pathetic seeing that there are a lot of complaints about this same problem meaning it is a manufacturing defect whitch they should sort out. Fiat is the bigest load of **** and the worst car I have ever owned, I would not advise anyone to purchase a Fiat ever. I also have a 2006 VW Polo whitch I received a recall notice for from VW for some airbag mechanisms repla*****t that will be fully covered by VW. If VW can do a recall on a 2006 model vehicle why can Fiat not do a recall on a much newer model of vehile with a manufacturing defect? They are a bunch of ******!!!
