Extreme drop in value of new Fiat 500x 1.4T Cross, bought, after only 17months & 13000km on the clock

<p>It seems as Joe-public never ends getting the SHORT END OF THE STICK....¡¡</p> <p>After owning a perfectly well built, and above average European Fiat 500X 1.4T Cross, I was SHOCKED at been told, from the numerous dealers around the country, that the importers / vendors only give a R200 000.00 value to their product.</p> <p>After merely putting 13 000km on the clock, and 15 to 17 months down the line, from NEW...!!!!</p> <p>That equates to a R145 000 - R150 000 loss, to a vehicle / product that still "smells" new, and is in IMMACULATE condition....</p> <p>I'd hate to know what would be offered for a "slightly" more "used" Fiat vehicle...</p> <p> </p> <p>After having owned 4x Fiats, in the last 16 years, and really enjoying the brand and quality, it's a SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS when the importer / franchised dealerships give such "low" values to their second hand vehicles...</p> <p>To me... it brings the brand down, in such a competitive market, and especially when "second hand" vehicles are supposedly becomming the more affordable option, when compared to the mostly hard to afford new models...</p> <p>What ever happend to the often read.. "second hand car prices are set to rise, when confronted to the seemingly hard-to-afford, exhorbidantly priced NEW VEHICLES"...???</p> <p>Makes YOU ponder what actually happens "behind the scenes in the motor industry.. be it regarding new car prices (often different marques been caught out with "price fixing collusions",,, and such)..</p> <p> </p> <p>SAD TIMES AHEAD for the general South African motorist...!!!</p>
